I HAVE ALWAYS FAILED TO SEE IT IN TIMES OF TROUBLE. Growing up was never that easy for me and especially with the whole dating thing. Romance was something in the movies that as I played barbies I dreamed I would meet my Ken or my prince, but lets be honest here. There are more rocks than there are diamonds. And when you want something so bad to be a diamond a rock can sparkle at times. People believe in finding the one, your soul mate. And I have quoted on many occasions you don’t have a soul mate, you have a Mr. right now, or Mr. later. THIS IS A LIE. You do have a soul mate, but you will also have a past.
I first fell in love when I was 17. Strawberry wine was my theme song. My first love taught me how to love and be loved and I will always forever be grateful. No one can ever replace the thought of your first love, UNTIL you find true love. That was at 19. From 18 to 19 the year in between my break up with my first love and finding my true love, i stumbled across far too many rocks, many in which I believed were diamonds, until I found that they all had the same shade of grey. I remember being ashamed and hating myself day after day asking GOD WHY would he allow this to happen. Why would he allow me to engage in activities or friendships with these men. Tears. Torture. Lies. BUT the thing is. God is always looking out for you and always has a plan. Little did I know God was molding me into a stronger woman, a woman who knew how to love, hold on, and cherish things. A woman who gave more than she got and shared more than she took. Little by little parts of my past faded away as God was planning something much bigger in store for me. He was planning my future husband to walk into my life. God knew that I wouldn’t be ready to meet him at 18 when I was struggling to find myself. God waited until I was comfortable with myself and who I was as a person before he allowed me to meet someone who saw past my flaws and when they began to show he loved me even more. God is so good that he prepared my future husband to know how to grab a hold and be strong with me. God is so good that he broke the pain of the past and allowed me to feel happiness for the first time again in over a year when I found THE ONE. My fiance, my future husband, my best friend. God is so good and we fail to see this at times because we tend to only think in the present, but whatever struggles you are dealing with just know that GOD is good and he will always provide. He is always watching you, molding you, and guarding your heart for the something more special than you can imagine. Once you can truly love yourself you will be able to love others around you and others will be able to love you for you.
Do not go looking for love. You will waste your time. Let love find you. Put the dating sites behind you. Stop hunting, stop chasing, stop texting, and calling. Believe me every girl has been guilty of this at some point. I KNOW I HAVE. The real thing is BE YOU and find your true self, that way others can love you more.
I know that when shopping, alcohol, gossip, partying, and even friends failed, GOD WAS ALWAYS THERE. Shaping, molding, creating, and HE NEVER STOPS. Help build your future today by putting the past behind you and allowing God to work something in your life. Never take a single chance for granted and always remember that each step you take is a closer chance to your future life, your future spouse, and a closer relationship with God if you just leaned on him.
